Classic Cars Come to Harbor Country

Take a stroll down memory lane this summer in New Buffalo with the return of the Classic Cruise-In, where classic and antique cars line Whittaker Street for the evening. Coupled with restaurant specials, local retail discounts, and 50’s and 60’s era music, it’s a fun night for out for the whole family.  Classic Cruise-In’s are held the first Wednesday night of each month from June through October, beginning in June.
If you are more than the casual car buff, stop by US 12 Speed & Customs in New Buffalo. The auto body shop specializes in race-car fabrication, custom auto work and classic car repair. Recently the shop was recognized for having restored a 1969 Z28 Camaro that barely survived a barn fire. US 12 Speed & Custom did all the fabrication and chassis work, and the Camaro, equipped with a 540hp 6.2L LS3 motor, 4L70E automatic transmission and nickel plated trim, took first place for it’s class and won Outstanding Street Machine at the Chicago World of Wheels Show. It was later featured in Hot Rod Magazine. And don't miss the shop’s rockin’ summer car show and pin-up girl contest.
Prefer high end, luxury autos? Moss Motorworks in Union Pier, Mi is a purveyor of vintage and exotic automobiles, and their showroom is worth putting on your agenda. Self described “fine automobile enthusiasts”, they sell and showcase the cars of your dreams, such as a 1989 Porsche 911 Targa Carerra and a 1966 Mercedes 230sl for which they recently found buyers. Whatever your taste in cars, you’ll find a little bit of everything in Harbor Country!
